Are you caring for a relative and need a time-out, for example because you have to go to hospital yourself or because you want to take a holiday? In these cases, you can use the short-term care service. Each calendar year, the person in need of care can live and be cared for in a short-term care facility for a maximum of 8 weeks. This regulation applies to all persons in need of care who have at least care level 2. The nursing care insurance fund or insurance company covers costs of a maximum of 1612 euros per year.
You will continue to receive half of the nursing allowance for up to 8 weeks. In addition, you can also use amounts from preventive care that you have not yet taken advantage of for short-term care, thus increasing the amount.
Our care advisors will be happy to provide you with information and support if you have any questions about short-term care or if you wish to apply to your care insurance fund.
